o5692374 Why on Earth would anyone choose to torture themselves with this shit?
Why can’t I use other Email client to check my work Emails?

Lotus Notes is so fricking slow and clumsy (Even though my office PC is P4 3.2GHz + 2GB RAM).
Switching tabs or clicking a button seems to cause huge amount of processing for the program.
Man, what is it so difficult to just open a fricking Email?

For example, clicking on different Emails in the list to preview them is extremely slow. It feels like it’s about to crash.
Say if you opened an Email and simply click a button to mark/unmark it as important, the program will have to quickly spawn another tabs in the back (I have no idea why) and cause some flickers.
It looks more like a hack then a normal operation.
Another weird situation is when you marked an Email as important, follow by marking the same Email as read (unread->read). That Email will still appear as "unread" in the "important" list!
I guess it actually clone the Email into the "important" list, instead of marking the actual Email…

The fancy UI theme doesn’t look any good neither, I’d say it looks worse than Outlook 2003.
Why bother doing all these fancy colour shading and curve edge on buttons and panels? It looks like dog shit compare to Windows Live Mail.
The ridiculously slow fancy UI feels like running Vista on a 32MB RAM machine. o5692376

Seriously, I have nothing against Java application.
But Lotus Notes is simply the worst software I’ve ever used (and forced to use at work). It makes Java look bad.

Oh, and one more thing to mention.
I hate it when a program steal focus. It is soooooooo annoying!
Every single time when I start Lotus Notes, I tend to do something else while it takes insanely long time to load up.
But as soon as it finished loading, it will jump right up to the front of the screen!
Yes, I know you want me to type my password to login, but you FORGET to set my keyboard focus to the fricking dialog box!
The dialog box is certainly being pushed to the front, but it doesn’t have the focus! The keyboard focus has been set to nowhere!

o5692375That reminds me about Google too. The AJAX suggest list that popup under the search box is really driving me nuts!
Since the list popup underneath the search box, it actually cover the search button! And so I always accidentally click the first suggestion, which is then send me straight to the result page!
Jesus! This AJAX suggestion list thingy is good, but it can be really annoying too!
